IPAD TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING

The iPad's touchscreen interface provides an easy way to navigate between music, games, movies and the Internet on a device that is small and portable. Like any electronic device, the iPad occasionally has problems, including failure to correctly interpret where, and even if, you are pressing your finger on the touchscreen. Don't be discouraged if this happens. Chances are you can troubleshoot the problem and work it out on your own. See the instruction below:

Clean the Screen

    • 1

Dip a dry, clean, lint-free cloth into a bucket of water or hold it under a faucet.

    • 2

Wring the cloth out so it is slightly damp.

    • 3

Wipe the iPad screen thoroughly with the cloth.

    • 4

Wipe the iPad screen off again using a dry lint-free cloth.

Remove Obstacles Between Your Hands and the Screen

    • 1

Remove any gloves before using the iPad screen.

    • 2

Dry your hands thoroughly after washing them. The screen has a difficult time detecting finger movements if your hands are wet. For the same reason, also avoid touching the screen immediately after putting lotion on your hands. Instead, wait until your hands are dry.

    • 3

Remove any protective covers if the iPad has difficulty picking up finger movements. If any problems are resolved by removing the protective cover, consider using the iPad without a cover, or testing out other covers.

    Restart iPad

    • 1

Hold the Power button on the upper-right edge of the iPad until a red slider appears on the upper-left corner of the screen that says "slide to power off." Press the red tab and pull it to the right to turn off the iPad.

    • 2

Wait for the iPad to completely power down. If the iPad does not shut down, hold the Power button down for 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen to force the iPad to shut down.

    • 3

Press the Power button again to turn the iPad back on. Enter your password if you are prompted.

    • 4

Test the iPad touchscreen to see if any issues are resolved. If you still experiencing touchscreen problems, proceed to Section 4.

    Restore iPad From Backup

    • 1

Plug the iPad into your computer using the USB cable that came with the device. Open iTunes.

    • 2

Select the name of your iPad on the left side of the screen beneath "Devices" and right-click it.

    • 3

Click "Restore from Backup," then click "Restore." The iPad will be restored to its condition as of the last time the device was synced with iTunes.

    Restore iPad Factory Default

    • 1

Scroll through the iPad menu and tap the "Settings" icon. Tap "General" when the Settings screen opens up.

    • 2

Scroll through the list of options and click "Reset." Tap "Erase All Content and Settings."

    • 3

Tap "Erase" to begin the restoration process and restore the iPad to its default factory settings.
